Texas Flooding Before and After Photos Reveal Scale of Devastation

Accelerated images and shared online images show that rivers quickly increase in Texas in the middle of strong floods that have resulted in more than 80 people.
Why it matters
The devastating floods that struck the center of Texas during the weekend of July 4 have become one of the events of the deadliest floods in the United States during the last century, Nowsweek previously reported. Sunday evening, the authorities had confirmed at least 82 deaths.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the floods are the second most deadly meteorological threat in the United States, exceeded only by extreme heat. On average, the floods cause more than 90 deaths each year, according to the agency.

What to know
Accelerated images have shown that the water level of the Llano river increased quickly in the middle of sudden floods, completely engulfing a road in less than an hour.
Before and after the images published on Reddit, he apparently showed the drastic climb of the Night of the Guadalupe River. The river jumped over 20 feet in the space of two hours, Nowsweek Previously reported, causing mass evacuations in the country of the state hill.
Among the hardest affected areas, there was Camp Mystic, a summer camp for girls along the Guadalupe river in Kerr County.
The camp confirmed the loss of 27 campers and advisers. “Our hearts are shattered alongside our families who endure this unimaginable tragedy. We are constantly praying for them,” said the camp in a statement.
Among those who died were the director of Camp Richard Eastland and the Camp Camp Chloe Childrade.
On Sunday, President Donald Trump approved a major statement in the event of a disaster for the county of Kerr, unlocking the Federal Aid for Rescue, Recovery and Infrastructure emergency agency. This is the second declaration of this type for Texas this year, after the violent storms and the Mars floods.

The Military Department of Texas wrote on X, formerly Twitter, Sunday: “Update: Rescue operations of the Military Department of Texas led to the successful recovery of 520 people. These efforts included 361 air evacuations carried out with UH-60 Black Hawks and 159 ground resumes using various vehicles and assets.”
What happens next
The center of Texas remained under the supervision of the NWS floods from the start of Monday. The office of service forecasts in Austin warned that several additional thumbs of rain would be possible, which could quickly cause floods. The agency also said that it was “difficult to identify” exactly where the strongest precipitation could occur, adding that up to 10 inches could fall into isolated quantities.
