Audi’s latest midsize luxury sedan checks a lot of the boxes buyers typically want in this segment. There’s strong power on tap, a long list of comfort features, and the kind of technology Audi has built its modern reputation on. Frame it against competitors and the value argument starts to make sense, too. You’re getting more performance than you might expect for the price, plus premium touches like massage seats and the brand’s signature high-tech lighting.
On the road, it backs up the spec sheet as our own Kyle Patrick found out recently when he drove the 2026 Audi A6 in California. Acceleration is brisk enough to keep things interesting, and the chassis feels composed in a way that fits the luxury-sport sedan brief. Audi has also trimmed the lineup down to focus on what it sees as the core version of the car-essentially distilling the model to what the company believes buyers actually want.
Which leads to the lingering question: who exactly is that buyer?
The midsize luxury sedan segment has become a strange place in today’s market. SUVs dominate sales charts, and performance-minded shoppers often gravitate toward more specialized models. That leaves cars like this in an interesting middle ground-well-equipped, genuinely good to drive, and arguably strong value for what they offer.
