Dozens of Palestinians, four Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza
At least 48 people were killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources reported on Thursday.
Hospital reports have indicated that 38 of the deaths occurred in Gaza City.
The Israeli army reported that four soldiers had been killed by an explosive apparatus in the southern part of the territory.
A spokesperson for the Defense Forces of Israel (FRI) said that around 450,000 Palestinians had fled Gaza City, who previously had around 1 million inhabitants.
Israel launched a very controversial ground offensive in the city in the early hours of Tuesday.
The government claims that the operation aims to crush the Palestinian militant group of Hamas and to guarantee the release of the remaining Israeli hostages.
The military spokesman Effie Defrin said that the Israeli army had reached more than 1,200 targets since the start of the offensive on the ground.
Information on both sides cannot be checked independently.
The Gaza War began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas and other Islamist terrorists launched an attack on Israel, killing around 1,200 people and removing more than 250 from the Gaza Strip.
Since then, more than 65,000 Palestinians from coastal territory have been killed, including many women and children, according to the Ministry of Health controlled by Hamas.
