The 8 most comfortable office chairs that saved our backs in 2025

In 2025, my team and I tested 20 of the best office chairs (bringing our total count to almost 100 office chair reviews). So, as we head into 2026, I’ve hand-picked the most comfortable models we’ve reviewed this year.
I found it fascinating re-reading all of our 2025 reviews, seeing the office chair market shift from functional and corporate furniture to wellness-focused designs and, in one case, a true next-generation chair with power adjustments.
EP200 balls
Excellent for work and play
I’ve been using the Boulies EP200 every day since I first tested it in February – and it hasn’t let me down yet. It’s firm and supportive, and its all-mesh construction makes it very breathable (although there is a variant with a foam-padded seat). True to the company’s gaming heritage, it’s ideal for working, playing, and sitting all day at an extremely reasonable price.

Freedom on a human scale
A work of art masquerading as an office chair
The Humanscale Freedom is a beautiful office chair with stunning design and smart ergonomic engineering. We found this one to be very, very comfortable to sit on for long periods of time. Although we found that it takes a little getting used to, it offers an exceptional amount of customization, with the seat automatically adjusting based on your weight and posture.

Sihoo Doro C300 Pro
The Sihoo Doro C300 Pro is an upgrade to one of my favorite office chairs (the non-Pro, budget-friendly C300). This mid-range model has proven to be superb in terms of ergonomics and comfort, with dynamic lumbar support, 6D armrests and a design that accommodates a range of body types. If these armrests locked into place, it would be almost entirely perfect.

FlexiSpot C7 Max
Ideal for tall users
The C7 Pro Max – sometimes known as the C7 Max or C7 Morpher, with only minor design differences – is a larger version of one of the best models we’ve ever tested: the FlexiSpot C7. This one is ideal for tall users thanks to its wider seat and higher, wider backrest with 10-point height adjustment. It supports users up to 330 lbs and 6’11”, with the chair excelling in the adjustability and comfort stakes.

Hinomi H2 Pro
A foldable office chair
Beyond its comfort, which includes highly adjustable lumbar support, what I really like about the Hinomi H2 Pro is the design itself. You see, this office chair features a foldable back, which folds up for easy storage when you want to turn your home office into a real living space. A perfect choice for those who want to save space (and don’t want a bulky office chair).

LiberNovo Omni
The new generation office chair
In all my years of testing office chairs, I have never seen anything quite like the LiberNovo Omni. Sure, it may look like your classic premium office chair, with a great ergonomic design. But what sets this seat apart is the inclusion of power adjustments built into the armrests, allowing you to fine-tune your fit. I wouldn’t be surprised to see more on high-end chairs in the future. From what I can see, beyond the US it is only available on the official website here.

Eureka Ergonomic Nox
A real leather office chair for professionals
I have always loved Eureka Ergonomie’s range of desks and chairs: they are always beautifully designed and well constructed. The Nox is no different, with its genuine leather upholstery, bold silhouette that tapers gently at the lumbar support, and wide armrests that slide around the chair to the metal seat base. Just striking design throughout.

Aire branch
A stylish office chair with excellent air circulation
Branch is behind some of my top-rated office chairs, like the Verve and the Ergonomic Pro. But the Aire is something different: an all-mesh seat that offers exceptional levels of airflow, all wrapped up in a sleek and stylish design that, as is typical of Branch, makes it very well suited to use at home and in the office. In our testing, we found this chair to provide exceptional comfort and support for long periods of work.
