Swimming is one of the best full-body workouts you can do. It’s low impact, very rewarding and deeply meditative. Of course, one person’s “meditative” side is another person’s “boring” side. In this case, a good playlist and headphones capable of streaming music underwater could be the solution.

A complete set of resistance bands gives you the ability to train your glutes, shoulders, arms, and back in a way that dumbbells can’t replicate, because the bands increase resistance throughout the full range of motion rather than relying on gravity. A good set will include multiple resistance levels, so you can progress over time without purchasing new equipment.

A good workout on a rowing machine can engage up to 86% of your muscles, combining cardio and strength training while being gentle on your joints. If no other cardio or strength routine calls your name, rowing may be for you.
