It’s hard to imagine a crazier week than the one Dianna Russini experienced.

Russini broke the sports internet when suggestive photos surfaced of her and New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel at a luxury hotel in Sedona, Arizona. These photos ignited a firestorm of speculation, questions and obvious issues around journalistic objectivity, given his role at The Athletic.

After initially supporting her, The Athletic announced that it would investigate Russini’s behavior. Shortly after this announcement, Russini resigned while rejecting the “narrative” that she said had been “built” around the incident.

All of this was already an insane whirlwind that undoubtedly changed his life, forever. But that’s not the only crazy thing that happened to the NFL reporter this week.

Dianna Russini allegedly helped save man and dog from car crash

THE The New York Post Page Six reported Friday evening that Russini “staged a daring rescue of an elderly man and his dog from an overturned Jeep.”

The accident happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday, when, according to local outlet New Jersey Patch, a 17-year-old in a Honda Civic collided with a Jeep while making a turn, flipping the SUV onto its side. A sign of the seriousness of the accident, the position of the Jeep would have trapped the 73-year-old man and his dog inside.

Page Six spoke to an eyewitness, who said Russini was “driving on the same road as the Jeep and the accident happened right in front of his car.”

“She ran out and a tall man put her on the roof of the Jeep to open the door, and she and the other guy pulled the driver and his dog out of the Jeep,” the eyewitness said. The local police arrived shortly afterwards.

Russini has yet to speak about the accident, but it adds to what has been one of the craziest weeks in recent memory.
