Chicago Stars lose to unbeaten-at-home Portland Thorns as Alyssa Naeher missed a third consecutive match – Chicago Tribune
Pietra Tordin scored the only goal and the spines of Portland (6-3-4) remained undefeated to Providence Park this season. The Thorns did not give up a home game in nine consecutive games from last year.
After a goalless first half, Sam Coffey crossed the ball to the rear post so that Tordin crushes his third goal of the season in the 59th minute.
The Thorns Bella Bixby goalkeeper recorded a 27th NWSL Clean Sheet team record, making three stops.
The stars of Chicago (1-7-3) are without victory in their last nine games.

Emeri Adames scored two goals in the second half and the Reign of Seattle beat the Royals of Utah 4-1 on Saturday.

Penelope Hocking put bay 1-0 in the 11th minute. Hocking hung on to a loop pass by Hannah Bebar and pushed the ball in front of Ann-Katrin Berger in the goal of Gotham.
Gonzalez obtained the Gotham equalizer in the 29th when she jumped on a loose pass in the box by Alyssa Malonson.
Geyse scored the winning goal of Gotham at 55th. Nealy Martin found the Brazilian with a pass of 40 yards of 40 defense yards.
It was a second consecutive defeat for the bay (4-6-3). The San Jose -based team lost its three meetings with Gotham since he joined the NWSL in 2024.
North Carolina Courage 2, Houston Dash 1
Hannah Betfort scored the winning goal during the return victory of Caroline du Nord on Saturday.
