The Boox Note Air 4C E-Notebook Is on Sale for Prime Day

I reviewed a ton of laptops in e-ink for Lifehacker, and I concluded that they are not for everyone. But for the right user – someone who wants an inscribable screen that recreates the feeling of a pen laptop with pen and paper, on a device that can essentially execute any productivity or reading application on the Google Play Store – they are a boon. The only drawback is the price: with a niche call comes a premium price.

But for the moment, you can enter the Boox Note Air 4C, my overall choice for the best digital book for most people, during a rare sale during the first day. I have never seen Boox devices be on sale on Amazon, even when sales of first days, so if the savings of $ 20 on this $ 530 device are not huge, it is really unprecedented. (My favorite electronic reader, the Boox Palma 2, is also marked during the large sale of Amazon).

An elegant replacement for your paper notebook and your kindle

The Boox Note Air 4C looks like an electronic reader, but it is more like an Android tablet with an e -ink screen – its open Android operating system includes access to Google Play Store, so that you can download any application you want, productivity and desktop tools for applications for books, comics and manga (especially if you do not read online content.

The 10.3 -inch screen offers the same clarity as your average Kindle, with a resolution of 2480 x 1860 and 300 dpi in black and white, and 1240 x 930 and 150 dpi in color mode. It has an front light adjustable to temperature that makes reading easy in your eyes in all conditions. The “Octo-Core” processor is a 2.07 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 750g, which is slower for a modern tablet, but quickly enough for most tasks that you will probably use the device to accomplish.

At 5.8 mm, it is elegantly thin and the quality of construction is smooth and solid. It has bluetooth support, two speakers and a microphone to record vocal notes, as well as a SD card slot which can extend the 64 GB of on-board storage up to 2 TB.

The real force of the Air 4C note, in particular compared to a device like the Kindle scribe, is its versatility as a digital notebook. Write on the screen with the inclusive stylus that still looks like a magical tip, offering a pleasantly paper writing experience, with the slightly textured and matt screen offering enough resistance so that you will not have the impression of sliding the pen of your pen on a smooth surface. Although it is preloaded with fairly competent note taking software, access to a full store means that you can also choose to use your choice program.

A premium product at a premium price

All electronic books tend to be expensive – a larger price to a high -end iPad than a Kindle – but they are versatile enough for the good user, they can be an entertainment and productivity center. If you are on the market for one of them, I highly recommend the Air 4C note, especially if you can resume a discount.
