The EFF is quitting X

The Electronic Frontier Foundation, a digital privacy nonprofit, will no longer post on X starting Thursday, largely due to a sharp decline in views on the platform in recent years. In a blog post announcing the departure, Kenyatta Thomas, EFF’s head of social media and video, explained that the nonprofit previously got 50 to 100 million impressions per month on X, but that has changed.

“Last year, our 1,500 posts generated around 13 million impressions over the entire year. Frankly, one post X today receives less than 3% of the views of a single tweet posted seven years ago.”
