A young boy was in critical condition after he was struck by an operator of a sedan in a Brooklyn hit and run Monday afternoon

An 11-year-old boy was struck and seriously injured in Brooklyn by the driver of a sedan who fled the scene of the disturbing accident Monday afternoon, police said.
The youth was near Avenue V and Ocean Parkway in Gravesend around 5:50 p.m. when he was struck by a black Acura sedan traveling north on the parkway approaching the intersection with Avenue V.

A 25-year-old man was also injured by debris from the accident, police said.
Paramedics transported both victims to Maimonides Medical Center, where the boy was in critical condition and the injured man was in stable condition, police said.
The driver of the Acura took off after the collision and remained at large Monday evening, authorities said.
The NYPD Highway District Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the incident.
