The Google Home Web App Finally Has Device Controls

Intelligent houses are supposed to be a question of convenience, but that does not work if you can only control things specific devices. Do you have the application on your phone, maybe a display or a smart speaker, but what about when you are sitting on your computer and just want to turn or turn off quickly? Google finally makes this possible.
The Google Home web application was launched in 2022, and it was mainly to check the history of the cameras and tinker with the script editor. Obviously, people wanted control of devices in this interface, and Google finally responds to these pleas with a “devices” tab. This is where you can see all your smart home gadgets arranged in a scrolling grid. If you have a lot of devices, the left sidebar allows you to quickly jump into specific parts.
The controls work as they do in the Google Home application. By clicking on a device tile, lights it or deactivate, and you can slide your mouse to adjust the brightness. However, there is not yet a color selector for the lights that support him. If you have a work with Google Thermostat, you will see the buttons more and less for temperature, and the possibility of switching between heating and cooling modes.
Devices that are not supported still include smart speakers, smart screens and chromecasts. These devices are displayed, but if you click on them, you will see a message that says “the controls of this device are not yet supported”. Google says it plans to extend the number of devices you can control from your browser.
I cannot say that I will open the Google Home web application to control my smart house all the time, but it is nice to know that this feature is there for the few occasions where I need it. Of course, entering my phone is quite easy, but if I am already submitting to my browser, it is a little easier to go home.google.com. The “devices” tab is already live in the web application.
