Ford Recalls More Than 850,000 Cars: These Models Are Impacted

Ford recalled more than 850,000 vehicles across the United States due to a possible defect in the low-pressure fuel pump which could cause the engines during driving.
The recall, which has an impact on a wide range of Ford and Lincoln brand models produced in recent years, has been announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on July 8.
The owners affected by the recall will begin to receive notifications by mail from Monday July 14, but an official correction has not yet been disclosed by the automotive manufacturer.

Why it matters
The dropout of the engine while a driving vehicle can increase the risk of collisions, especially at high speed or in dense traffic.
Although Ford has not reported any known accident or injury linked to the issue, drivers are invited to remain vigilant for potential warning panels, including mediocre engine performance, reduced power or an illuminated control engineer.
What to know
Ford indicated that the failure of the low -pressure fuel pump could cause an engine stall to rest or driving.
The NHTSA said that the failure of the fuel pump is more likely to occur “in fuel or hot time and hot fuel weather in the fuel tank”.
He added: “The loss of fuel pressure and the flow of the low -pressure fuel pump can be due to internal contamination of the reaction pump, in particular in low fuel conditions, and to a reduction in internal clearances of the fuel pump which cause an increase in the internal friction and the sensitivity to the steam lock.”
What models are affected?
The recall affects specific Ford and Lincoln models manufactured in recent years. According to NHTSA documents, these are in particular:
- 2021-2023 Ford Bronco
- 2021-2023 Ford Explorer
- 2021–2023 Lincoln Aviator
- 2021–2023 Ford F-25 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD and F-550 SD
- 2021–2022 Lincoln Navigator
- 2021–2022 Ford Mustang
- 2021–2022 Ford F-150
- Some Ford 2022 shipping models
Ford estimated that around 10% of the 850,318 vehicles included in the recall can be affected by the defective fuel pump.
What people say
THE NHTSA Says in its safety recall report: “Before the failure of the fuel pump, the customer can undergo poor engine performance (missed or running), a control engineer or a reduction in the engine power. Fuel pump failure is more likely to occur in fuel or hot time and hot fuel in the fuel tank.”
He added in a letter to Ford: “In less than 49 USC § 30112 (A) (3), it is illegal for a manufacturer to sell, offer for sale, to import, or to be introduced or deliver in interstate, motor vehicle or engine vehicle equipment which contains a safety anomaly once the manufacturer has informed NHTSA of safety.
What happens next
Ford will inform the owners affected from July 14 of potential risks. The automaker has said that once a solution is available, the impacted owners will receive a second letter educating them on how to obtain free repair from authorized dealerships.
The Ford’s current updates and the Federal Security Authorities are expected as work on the remedy is progressing.
