Putin Says President Was Right—Russo-Ukrainian War Would Not Have Broken Out If Trump Had Been in Office – RedState

The summit of Vladimir Putin-Donald Trump Alaska ended on Friday while the two leaders returned home. As Ward Clark of Redstate wrote it in detail, there were many news that was made by the two world leaders thereafter-but there were no ceasefire announcements from Russia-Ukraine at that time. Instead, the two presidents described Reunion as cordial and productive and a place to start improving relationships.

One moment stood out, however: when Putin agreed with one of Trump’s long -term statements – namely that the Russo -Ukraine war would never have arrived if Donald Trump had been the American president instead of the unhappy and ineffective Joe Biden.

I would like to remind you that in 2022, during the last contact with the previous administration, I tried to convince my previous American colleague … that the situation should not be brought to the point of no return when it would happen to hostilities.

And I’m sure that would be the case, I can confirm it. I think that overall, I and President Trump have made a very good contact with business and trustworthy. And I have every reason to believe that the passage on this path that we can come … the earliest the best, until the end of the conflict in Ukraine. “”

President Trump and President Putin meet in Alaska – Here is what happened

We do not know what was and was not agreed at the meeting, but Trump said that he would soon call the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders to give them updates. Putin said it was time for a new era in relations:

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that “it is very important” for Russia and the United States “return the page to return to cooperation” as the pressure develops to end the current war in Ukraine.

Putin, who started a press conference with President Donald Trump after almost three hours of talks between the two leaders in Alaska, said that “the agreement we have managed to get you to get closer to this objective and that we will open the way to peace in Ukraine.”

Putin did not explain why he thought that the war would not have broken out of Trump had been in office, but the fact that he said it was somewhat surprising. Although Putin can play head games, as it is inclined to do, we would always guess that the American president appreciated the feeling.
