First Lady Melania Trump Names Names As She Makes Blistering Public Comments About Jeffrey Epstein – RedState

First Lady Melania Trump took the unusual step Thursday afternoon of making public comments on an issue that concerned her and her family. Appearing on a podium somewhere in the White House – and with a serious expression and a somber, but firm tone – Melania blasted individuals and organizations who attempted to “defame” her by linking her to the late sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.
She went on to explain that she was never friends or victims of Epstein, saying their paths crossed occasionally in the high society worlds of New York and Palm Beach, Florida; She also dispelled the suggestion made by some bad actors that she was introduced to Donald Trump by Epstein, noting that she was with her husband the first time she met Epstein in 2000.

The First Lady stressed that she and her lawyers have not – and will not – back down from holding legally accountable those who spread “unfounded and baseless lies” about her. And she gave names. “To date,” she revealed, “several individuals and companies have been legally required to publicly apologize and retract their lies about me, such as Daily Beast, James Carville, and Harper Collins UK.”
She also called on Congress to hold public hearings so that Epstein’s victims could record their testimonies under oath, concluding: “Then, and only then, will we have the truth.”

Good afternoon.
The lies linking me to the shameful Jeffrey Epstein must end today. Individuals who lie about me lack ethical standards, humility and respect. I do not object to their ignorance, but rather I reject their petty attempt to defame my reputation.
I was never friends with Epstein. Donald and I were invited to the same parties as Epstein from time to time, as overlapping social circles are common in New York and Palm Beach.
To be clear, I never had any relationship with Epstein or his accomplice, [Ghislaine] Maxwell. My email that applied to Maxwell cannot be classified as anything other than casual correspondence. My polite response to his email amounts to nothing more than an insignificant note.
I am not Epstein’s victim. Epstein didn’t introduce me to Donald Trump. I met my husband by chance at a party in New York in 1998. This first meeting with my husband is documented in detail in my book, Melania.
The first time I encountered Epstein was in 2000 at an event Donald and I attended together. At the time, I had never met Epstein and had no knowledge of his criminal activities.
Many false images and statements about Epstein and me have been circulating on social media for years. Be careful about what you believe. These images and stories are completely false.
I am not a witness or named witness in connection with any of Epstein’s crimes. My name never appeared in any court documents, depositions, victim impact statements, or FBI interviews regarding the Epstein case.
I was never aware of Epstein’s abuse of his victims. I was never involved in any capacity. I did not participate, I was never on Epstein’s plane and I never visited his private island.
I have never been legally charged or convicted of a crime related to Epstein’s sex trafficking, child abuse, and other disgusting behavior.
False smears against me from petty, politically motivated individuals and entities who seek to damage my reputation to gain financially and advance politically must stop.
My attorneys and I successfully uncovered these baseless and baseless lies and will continue to uphold my strong reputation without hesitation. To date, several individuals and companies have been legally required to publicly apologize and retract their lies about me, such as Daily Beast, James Carville, and Harper Collins UK.
Now is the time for Congress to act. Epstein was not alone. Several prominent male leaders resigned from positions of power after the matter became widely politicized. Of course, this does not equate to guilt, but we must still work openly and transparently to uncover the truth.
I call on Congress to provide female victims of Epstein with a public hearing specifically focused on survivors. Give these victims the opportunity to testify under oath before Congress through the power of sworn testimony. Every woman should have her day to tell her story in public, if she chooses. And then his testimony should be permanently enshrined in the congressional record.
Then, and only then, will we have the truth.
THANKS.
