Well, it seems that our national nightmare (not so) long is finished. After almost a full week of intense counterpouts on social networks, the ABC network announced that after a handful of days placed in “Timeout”, Jimmy Kimmel apparently thought about his actions and his feedback this evening of his role as a host of a late talk show.
The network’s decision has created an online storm of fire, because many have been indignant by the decision, and there was no shortage of hyperbolic accusations according to which this country has constituted an authoritarian regime with a tin sovereign with thin skin eradicating a critical voice. The reactions have been funnier than anything in a Kimmel monologue.

Looking at last week, many questions abound. Let’s start here, with the flow of support that went bankrupt for Kimmel after ABC said that he was put in the bench at the moment. Kimmel will probably find himself in the same position as Colbert, once the hysterics buffer. Just look at the numbers. After a little bump in the notes after the indignation that followed, the number of Colbert returned to their average, and he slips again in the odds. In fact, Jimmy Fallon was the only one to see an increase in figures last month, and Greg Gutfeld of Fox News still dominates them.
Finally, we have an indolent spirit in Washington.
