While you read your Kindle, I studied Boox. This range of e-ink devices from the Chinese technology company Onyx can be little known in the United States outside of members of its worship (with whom you can discuss on Reddit), but it has a ton to offer anyone in search of an alternative to a Kindle Paperwhite (or an iPad, by the way).

Although the Boox Palma 2 phone in the form of a favorite electronic electronic reading, Boox also makes avant-garde electronic books that seek to marry the easy screen on the eyes of a Kindle with the functionality of an iPad. These are even complete with inscriptionable screens, so you can use a stylus to take notes and draw as you would in a physical notebook. And the biggest and probably the most mean Boox E-Notebook of all is the Boox Note Max, a massive 13.3 inch machine.

When I reviewed this giant last year, I focused on its versatility (it runs on an open Android operating system with access to Google Play Store, so it will perform the same applications as an Android LED tablet, and you can use it as a laptop by adding a personalized keyboard case) and an excellent writing experience (although it is not quite paper and paper large).

But as much as I would like to say that I use it to organize all my notes, I mainly use the Boox Note Max to read manga. The Shonen Jump application looks fabulous on the Carta 1300 black and white crisp screen, and the 13.3 inch real estate reveal details much more difficult to appreciate on a tankōbon page. It brought me back into the medium in an important way – which is great, because if my son will poign me up with facts on One piece All the time, I could as well know what he is talking about.

What do you think so far?

The disadvantage of devices not on electronic links is that they are niche, and therefore dear. And because all E-Ink screens are made in China, they have recently become more expensive due to prices. But at the moment, the Boox Note Max (with the Boox Palma 2 and Boox Note Air 4C) is on a rare sale for Prime Day. You can currently save $ 60 on the Max note – not a huge reduction in retail price of $ 690, but welcome anyway.

(Complete disclosure: unless you really want a huge screen, the Boox Note Air 4C is probably the best purchase for most people – although the E -HK color has disadvantages, it is an excellent device to read the comics. Oh, and do work, I suppose.)
