The winter doldrums are almost behind us, and that means new Android phones are on the horizon. Samsung has announced the date for the first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2026, which is when the Galaxy S26 series will be officially shown off. The company has also shared information about pre-order promotions.

Galaxy Unpacked is scheduled for February 25th at 1 PM EST in San Francisco. As usual, the event will be live-streamed on Samsung’s website and its YouTube channel. You’ll be able to find all the details right here on How-To Geek when everything is official.

Samsung is keeping everything pretty quiet, but one thing it did reveal is the pre-order promotions it will offer. If you reserve your spot in line to pre-order, you’ll receive a $30 credit when you actually make the purchase. You’ll also be able to get a $150 credit toward an additional Samsung product. The company did not share when pre-orders will open, but according to the fine print, it appears they’ll end on March 11th.

While Samsung isn’t saying much, many of the specs have been leaked by reliable sources. The base Galaxy S26 is rumored to grow slightly with a 6.3-inch display and a larger 4,300mAh battery. We saw Google give the base Pixel 10 some love last year, so it’s nice to see Samsung do the same. The Galaxy S26 and S26+ will reportedly look identical, save for size.

12GB of RAM is the new standard across the lineup, but the Ultra will also be available with 16GB of RAM. One nice design change is a less squared-off shape for the Ultra. Samsung is ditching the sharper corners for a rounded frame that matches the rest of the family. And while magnetic charging is once again not included, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be able to do 60W wired fast charging.

The cameras appear to be largely the same, but there’s a new “Privacy Display” feature this year. It apparently uses AI to block side-viewing angles from people around you. Also, expect a heavy dose of talk about “agentic AI” and abilities that move past simple commands.

All in all, the Galaxy S26 series is shaping up to be a pretty minimal upgrade. The Galaxy Z TriFold is clearly the more interesting device, and there’s a good chance we’ll learn more about it at Unpacked, too. Pre-orders for that phone opened up last month for a whopping $2,899. As for the pricing of the Galaxy S26 series, that remains to be seen.
