The American Senate confirmed the former Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, as the main federal prosecutor of Washington DC, occupying a critical post of the Ministry of Justice after President Donald Trump withdrew his first controversial candidate. Pirro was confirmed during a vote of 50 to 45, largely along the party, to serve as an American lawyer for the Columbia district.
Confirmation comes after Trump made his first choice, conservative activist Ed Martin Jr., following the opposition of the main Republican senators who cited concerns about Martin’s support for the rioters of the January 6 Capitol. Martin has since been reassigned as a forgiveness for the Ministry of Justice.
Before her acting meeting in May, Pirro co-organized “The Five” on Fox News during the week, where she frequently interviewed Trump. Her media career has not been without controversy – she faces a defamation trial of $ 2.7 billion in the SmartMatic USA voting technology on the dissemination of false complaints concerning the 2020 elections.
The confirmation process was faced with additional complications when democratic members of the Senate judicial committee came out to protest against the appointment of Emil Bove to become a judge of the Federal Court of Appeal, although the members of the Republican Committee voted unanimously to advance the appointment of Pirro to the Senate.
