“CNN NewsNight” panelists had a collective meltdown Wednesday after Salem Radio Network host Scott Jennings used Department of Homeland Security (DHS) data to illustrate the criminal records of illegal aliens arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Border czar Tom Homan announced Wednesday that 700 federal agents would leave Minneapolis, citing “unprecedented cooperation” from state and local authorities. After Jennings fact-checked former South Carolina Democratic Rep. Bakari Sellers’ claim that most illegal immigrants don’t have criminal records, “The View” co-host Ana Navarro erupted. “The federal government, the Department of Homeland Security, has repeatedly released data showing that 70 percent of the people who were deported had other criminal records. They’ve said that repeatedly. I don’t know about the Cato Institute, but the government – but the government has said it repeatedly,” Jennings said, prompting Navarro to assert: “Scott, wait, wait a minute. Here’s the thing, though. The thing is, you take everything that says DHS as the truth, like the Bible.

“They published the list,” Jennings responded.

DHS issues daily press releases, detailing some of the illegal aliens with criminal records who are taken into custody. Some of the crimes for which illegal aliens have been convicted include sexual conduct with a minor, domestic violence, lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, third-degree sex offense, voluntary manslaughter, burglary, theft, breaking and entering, malicious punishment of a child, and terroristic threats.

“Okay, yeah, but that doesn’t mean anything, Scott,” Navarro said. “These are the same people who told us that the people they sent to this hellhole of El Salvador were the worst of the worst and were gang members. And when the independent journalists found out their names, which they did not release, and looked at the records and the names, most of the people sent to El Salvador were not Tren de Aragua, were not gang members and did not have a violent history. These are the same people who constantly lie. This are the same people who said a Cuban who just died in ICE custody committed suicide when the Texas medical examiner said – ruled it a homicide They lied over and over and then you come here and repeat the lies. “As of today, 4,000 people, according to the list published in Minnesota, have been taken off the streets,” Jennings responded. “Criminals, violent rapists, murderers, pedophiles, people who have done very, very bad things. They’re not backing down here.”

President Donald Trump declared an end to “temporary protected status” for Somalis on Nov. 22, days after City Journal published a report on welfare fraud in Minnesota. After the announcement of increased federal immigration enforcement, Democratic Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis said police would not cooperate with the operation during an interview with WCCO, a CBS affiliate in the city, broadcast on December 7.
