There’s a Small Problem With That List of Names a Dem Lawmaker Connected to Epstein – RedState

Lawmakers in Congress have had access to the unredacted names in the Epstein files, and some have reviewed the documents.

Shortly afterward, Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna (CA-17) and Republican Rep. Thomas Massie (KY-4) said they found the names of six men whose names had been redacted, who Massie said were “probably incriminated by their inclusion in these records.”

Khanna claimed that these were “rich and powerful men that (sic) the DOJ has hidden” and then he read their names on the House floor for all to hear.

Except there was a small problem with that statement.

Even though two of those names had a connection to Epstein, four of those names I had never heard of before, and I had been covering the case for years. Then I went to find out who they were. The first thing I thought was: how rich and powerful can they be, if I can’t even find much about these people?

But it turns out that these four had no contact with Epstein, according to the Guardian. The men had just been used in a lineup in New York, which is why their names and some photos were found in the files.

Now Khanna is trying to blame the DOJ for what it did. He acknowledged reports that the people “were just part of a photo op and are not connected to Epstein’s crimes.”

I wish the DOJ would have provided this explanation sooner instead of redacting and then removing their names. They failed to protect survivors, sowed confusion among innocent men, and protected rich and powerful attackers.

But it wasn’t the DOJ that went to the House and read their names. Khanna did this. Khanna claimed they were “rich and powerful,” and he didn’t even know that about the four.

This is the problem of reading random elements from files, without knowing the context. This is why you should not rely on random emails or documents that you do not fully understand, but on specific allegations.

Now also imagine the monumental work of going through all those millions of files, trying to understand them and fix everything. The DOJ must determine the context as well as what happened in any prior investigation.

In response to the news about the four men, Massie claimed he raised the possibility of an alignment during a CNN interview. But even in this interview excerpt, it was still implied that the DOJ was unduly protecting the men.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche reprimanded Khanna.

“The ‘problem’ is that you didn’t come to us, but immediately ran to X and the House floor and made false accusations against four men,” Blanche said, “while we fact-checked.” He also said that although the other two men who had contact with Epstein were redacted in one document, they were otherwise listed unredacted in the files. The association was therefore not hidden.

Bottom line? Let’s look at the actual allegations, if any of them can still be prosecuted.
