63 mph wind was clocked during Friday’s storms. See top gusts in each N.J. county.

Trees were cut down. Electricity poles were broken. And the Christmas decorations flew off the lawns.
It’s all thanks to Friday’s intense storms, which generated wind gusts reaching 63 mph at High Point Monument in Sussex County, 60 mph at Belleville in Essex County and 59 mph at Newark Liberty International Airport in Essex and Union counties.
These were the strongest gusts recorded in the Garden State, according to the National Weather Service and the Rutgers NJ Weather Network.
