How do iPhone 16 trade-in offers work?

Some carriers are offering up to $1,000 on eligible trade-ins, which could net you a free iPhone 16 Pro. One important thing to keep in mind is that most trade-in deals offered by carriers require you to become a customer and often apply to the most expensive plan options.

Some retailers with trade-in programs might instead offer gift cards for future purchases, so you don’t necessarily need to be tied into a contract to take advantage of the savings you can get from parting with your old device. However, these deals may not offer as many benefits as traditional trade-in deals.
