The download speeds were mostly the same, with Mont Rainier, the Grand Teton and the Sequoia making a second appearance, although the Hawaii volcanoes and the Big Bend national parks have also grinned. At the other end of the spectrum, the five slowest national parks based on download speeds were Mammoth Cave, Yellowstone, Redwood, Kings Canyon and Death Valley. Among these, Death Valley was the worst at just 7.56 Mbps. These were also the slowest in terms of download speeds, with a Mammoth cave at the end of the line with a median download speed of 0.93 Mbps.
The rest of the national parks adapts somewhere between these two extremes. Ookla notes that national parks near metropolitan areas tended to have an advantage over those who were in the sticks. For reference, Sequoia National Park is only 85 miles from Fresno, California, while the Cuyahoga valley is around 20 miles from Cleveland, Ohio.
Ookla noted that the answer to download and download speed problems can be supplier satellite internet like Starlink. In the Speedtet Giant report, Starlink had the fastest download speeds of all internet suppliers in most national parks while competing in terms of download speeds.
Of the 10 most popular national parks in the country, Starlink had the high -level download speed in eight of them and the fastest or fastest download speeds in six of them. So, if you head for Joshua Tree State Park for astrophotography, for which the park is famous, you can download these photos a little more than three times faster with Starlink than with any traditional mobile service like T-Mobile or Verizon.
