Third ISIS-K Suspect Netted in Virginia – RedState

Afghanistan is one of the most backward countries on the planet. And yet the Biden administration imported thousands of people from this country, mostly without oversight or control, and simply released them into the United States.

This practice produces bitter fruits. In the latest episode of “We Caught Another Afghan Terrorist in the United States,” we learned Thursday that Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) has intercepted another Afghan import with suspected ties to a terrorist group, ISIS-K.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested Afghan national Jaan Shah Safi, a suspected ISIS-K supporter brought into the country as part of former President Joe Biden’s Operation Allies Welcome, in Waynesboro, Virginia.

Safi was arrested as President Donald Trump and his administration face a wave of terrorism cases linked to Afghan arrivals that occurred during the Biden administration.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said Wednesday that Safi arrived in the United States on September 8, 2021, in Philadelphia.

He applied for Temporary Protected Status (TPS), although his application was abandoned when DHS Secretary Kristi Noem ended TPS for Afghans.

Safi is believed to be a supporter of Islamic State-K, or Islamic State of Khorasan Province, the branch of ISIS that works in Afghanistan, Pakistan and other countries in that region. The Islamic State is one of the most vicious Islamic terrorist groups in operation, and the Biden administration has let its supporters waltz into the United States.

Afghanistan has been known for centuries as the graveyard of empires. The British, the Soviets, and even the Mongols all invaded Afghanistan and eventually all gave up, considering it a bad deal, as did the United States.

And the Biden administration seemed determined to import this graveyard of empires to the United States.

Is it such an old-fashioned idea that the United States should only import people who will bring positive benefits to the nation? Is it so outrageous to suggest that we don’t have to import someone from anywhere without a background check, just because they claim to be a refugee?

This, of course, is precisely what the Biden administration has done.

DHS has accused the Biden administration of relying on unverified credentials to admit nearly 190,000 Afghan nationals to the United States.

The Trump administration halted resettlement of Afghan refugees after returning to the Oval Office in January because it viewed the program as a massive threat to national security.

Safi’s arrest is the third of an Afghan national released into the country under Biden in less than a week, according to DHS.

A “massive threat to national security” is perhaps an understatement.

This problem is not limited to Afghan “refugees”. For years we have been importing people from a wide variety of third world countries, from Somalia to Haiti. Years of non-democratic border enforcement have welcomed millions more people. And now, once again, we still don’t know where many of them are or what they are doing.

Perhaps more worrying is the fact that there could be as many as 200,000 Chinese nationals, also in the United States illegally. We also don’t know where most of them are or what they are doing.
