Children have sticky fingers. If they touch your iPhoneyou can expect smudges on your screen and possibly your camera lens. It’s not always your kids’ fault either. Adults can also dirty your camera lens. Your photos may therefore appear blurry and you will probably have to take them several times. Fortunately, with iOS26 There’s a feature that can alert you when your camera lens needs cleaning, that way you don’t lose out on a perfectly good sunset or other Instagrammable moments.
Apple released iOS26 In Septemberand it brought a handful of new features to your iPhone, including call screening, new ringtones And more. It also introduced an easy-to-ignore feature called Lens Cleaning Hints. When this feature is enabled, your iPhone will display a message that your camera needs cleaning.
This feature was automatically enabled for me after download iOS26 but here’s where to find it in case it’s not enabled for you. It is important to note that it is only available on iPhone15 and later models, so if you have a iPhone 14 Pro, you will not see this option.
How to enable lens cleaning tips
1. Faucet Settings.
2. Faucet Camera.
3. Press the Lens Cleaning Tips switch to the bottom of the menu.
When enabled, your iPhone will detect if its front camera lens is dirty and your device will prompt you to clean it to improve your image quality. This is a good way to ensure you always have a good photo and could be useful if you let your kids play with your phone, leaving marks everywhere.
