When it comes to how I live, there are a few basic facts: I live in a small apartment and I constantly “work” there. Sometimes this involves a complete overhaul of my organizational system. I’m picky about both because I always want to be warmer and need a heater, but I also like the sound of a fan at night to help me fall asleep (while I’m sheltered from the cool air under my blanket). First of all, I always want to be upfront when a company gives me something so I can review it. This is what happened here. However, I don’t write a good review if something stinks, so here I am saying this thing is extremely useful.

Typically, the TurboBlade Cool + Heat costs $400. That’s a lot, although it makes economic sense if you don’t want to spend a lot of money separately on a good fan and a good radiator. This also makes sense for someone like me who lives in a small apartment. It’s frustrating having to store two large devices when I can only have one. Still, the discount, which brings that amount to $250 for the shopping vacation, is much appreciated.

The fan

The TurboBlade Cool + Heat is bladeless and modern looking, which I like. It’s that powerful. You can adjust it up to 10 levels of air blowing, so you can get just a touch or a whole windstorm. I opt for a Level 10 Windstorm because I’m particularly interested in white noise at bedtime, but it comes with a handy little remote control, so if it gets too loud or too airy, I don’t have to get up to adjust it. The heating option, easy to activate, has three modes. There is a filter at the bottom that seems easy to clean, but I haven’t had to do it yet.

You can rotate the vents horizontally or vertically, and they can also tilt and swing autonomously. If you have to pay a few hundred dollars for something, this should make for some cool tricks, and it does. You can also dim the control panel, which I do because I like to sleep in complete darkness.

Some technical specifications: it has 1,400 watts, its airflow capacity is 1,180 cubic feet per minute, and its maximum speed is 10 rpm. It has a voltage of 120 and weighs just over 21 pounds. I’m a simple person, so I don’t pay attention to any of these things except the weight. It doesn’t come assembled, so I stupidly assembled it in the middle of my driveway (which was perfectly easy to do and took me maybe five minutes), then had to carry it, assembled and heavy, to place it where I wanted it. Is 21 pounds a ton of weight? No, but it was difficult for me to push it up the ladder to my loft bedroom and I wish I had assembled it in the room I planned to use it. Just a tip.
