Athletics Officially Release Veteran Infielder Luis Urias

Athletics will not do the qualifying series this year, but they have been one of the best baseball teams in the past two months.
Athletics is 15-9 in August, dragging only the Brewers of Milwaukee and the Red Sox in Boston for the best record in baseball during this period.

While athletics continues to play a good baseball, they decided to go from a veteran who did not really go.
Luis Urias, who joined A A on an agreement of $ 1.1 million during the offseason, was appointed for assignment earlier this week. After cleaning the exemptions, the team chose to put it back to the free agency.
Urias will always earn the remaining money on his athletics contract, but will now have the opportunity to sign with another team for the rest of the season. If he joins a team before September 1, he will be eligible for playing in playoffs with his new team.

Urias, 28, appeared in 96 games with athletics this season. The public championship player reduced .230 / .315 / .338 with eight circuits and 25 points beaten. He had an OPS + 81, 19% below the league average.
Urias spent most of his time to the second goal with a few third goal matches this season. He was one of the worst defenders of the League, with an absent above the average of less-6, which ranks in the 8th centile through the MLB.
Urias initially signed with the San Diego Padres as an international free agent in 2013. He made his debut at the level of the big league in 2018 and also played with the Padres in 2019 before being traded at the Brewers in Milwaukee before the 2020 season.
He was with the Brewers to the 2023 commercial deadline, when he was exchanged at the Boston Red Sox. He then appeared in 41 games with the Seattle Mariners last season.

The best season of Urias occurred in 2021 with the Brewers, when he struck .249 with 23 circuits, 75 products produced and an OPS of 0.789 in 150 games. He also had a strong 2022 season before struggling in 2023 and could not regain his form.
At only 28 years old, Urias has a lot of time to get back on the right track. However, it will not be with athletics, who seeks to give their young players more time to finish this season with an eye on conflicts as soon as possible.
