Hegseth Orders Military Leaders to Gather on Short Notice Next Week

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered hundreds of American military leaders, including generals and admirals, to meet in the short term next week in a base of the US Marine in Virginia.
According to the Washington PostThe directive included “practically all the best army commanders in the world” and was published this week. Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell confirmed Job That Hegseth “will address his senior military leaders at the beginning of next week”, while not offering any other details. He also expressed any concerns about the meeting.
“There are around 800 generals and admirals distributed in the United States and dozens of other countries and time zones,” noted the Job. The order of Hegseth… applies to all the superior officers with the grade of general or superior brigadier, or their equivalent of the navy, serving command posts and their best enlisted advisers. »»
“The main commanders in conflict zones and senior military leaders stationed throughout Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region are among those who should attend the HegSeth meeting, said that people familiar with the issue, who spoke subject to anonymity because they were not allowed to discuss the question publicly,” added the device.
A source said that military officials did not remember seeing such an order before, causing concern.
“People are very worried. They have no idea what it means,” a source told the Job.
The directive intervenes in the midst of the Trump administration making several changes to the US military, including a recent decree amending the Ministry of Defense to the Ministry of War. The order intervened after the president told journalists in August that he would probably change the name, arguing that the United States was more victorious when the Ministry of War was entitled until it changed to the Ministry of Defense in 1949 after the Second World War.
“Everyone likes us to have an incredible story of victory when it was the Ministry of War,” said Trump. “Then we changed it at the Ministry of Defense.”
Pete Hegseth made similar arguments during an interview on Fox and friends.
“We won the First World War, and we won the Second World War, not with the Ministry of Defense, but with a war department, with the Ministry of War,” said Hegseth. “As the president said, we are not only the defense, we are offended.”
“We have restored warriors in the department. We want warriors, people who understand how to demand lethality on the enemy,” he added. “We don’t want endless contingencies and playing in defense. We believe that words, names and titles count. So we work with the White House and the President.
