Did you know that you can customize Google to filter the garbage? Take these steps For best search results, especially by adding my work at Lifehacker as a favorite source.

When you install a major update like iOS 26, you find yourself discovering more things you use it. You might find a new way of strengthening the life of your battery or stopping these spam calls and texts for good. For me, however, one of my favorite discoveries was a small but excellent change for group cats – which doubled the way to find out which of your contacts also updated to iOS 26.

Dactylography indicators join the group cat

Once people update their iOS 26 iPhones, group cats are starting to take care of the striking indicators, or, in other words, these tiny striking bubbles you see in head-on cats in messages. The first time you have been in a group cat after updating your iPhone and seeing someone type is a bit shocking, because this feature was exclusive to unique cats for all the Imessage history. For me, it almost seemed a problem –It is not supposed to arrive.

But it is actually an excellent update. Now, group cats are not only messages between dead airs: you can know when other people work on the answers to one of your messages, so you will not be surprised the next time a multitude of new texts are starting to flood. On the other hand, if you don’t do it See these cat bubbles, you will know that no one really works on anything to say. Dead Air means Dead Air.

What is interesting, however, is that since you have to execute iOS 26 in order to obtain striking indicators, this new feature serves a little to know which of your contacts has updated the latest operating system. This is what I find after a few weeks of iOS 26: I will be in group cats where messages arrive without warning, as usual, but contact will appear as a dactylography bubble. I am sure that one day not so long from now on, it will not be the norm, and I will see most of the contacts typing group texts. But for the moment, it is a neat observation.

What do you think so far?

Do not forget: if you run iOS 26, someone else performing iOS 26 can see that you type the group cat. This might require a new muscle memory. Until now, you have been able to take as long as you want to type and send messages to group cats without notice. But now, some (if not all) of the members of the cat will be able to see when you start creating a text.

It is far from being the only change of Apple to messaging in iOS 26. In fact, there are many new ones here, including the chat background, the possibility of copying individual words from messages and surveys as you could find on other cat applications and social media platforms.
