Trump Suggests He Could Deploy Troops To New Orleans

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he was weigningSetting up federal troops in New Orleans, next to the reprimand with crime.
Trump told journalists in the oval office that he was trying to decide to send the National Guard to New Orleans or Chicago. Trump’s comments intervene after announced Tuesday that it would send the National Guard to help fight crime in the windy city.
“We are taking a determination now: Are we going to Chicago?” Or are we going to a place like New Orleans where we have a large governor, [Republican Louisiana Gov.] Jeff Landry, who wants us to come and straighten a very beautiful section of this country which has become quite – quite difficult, quite bad? Trump said in the oval office on Wednesday on Wednesday.
“We are going to go to Louisiana, and you have New Orleans, which has a crime problem,” added Trump. “We will straighten this in about two weeks. It will take us two weeks, easier than DC” (Related: the mayor of DC orders local cooperation with federal repression on crime)

In a post on Wednesday afternoon, Landry published a video of the president’s comments and said Louisiana “I will take the president @Realdonaldtrump ‘S help from New Orleans to Shreveport! »»
The president announced on August 11 that he deployed troops from the National Guard to Washington, to help eradicate violent crimes in the city, which criticized certain Democrats. However, some recent polls have shown that many Americans approve of the treatment of crime by Trump.
“I will solve the problem of crime quickly, just as I did in DC. Chicago will be safe again, and soon,” wrote Trump on Tuesday in a social article of truth. “Make America again great!”
“We have always worked with our federal partners, in particular collaborations with the police of the State of Louisiana,” said the Democrat mayor of New Orleans, the office of Latoya Cantrell and the New Orleans police service in a joint press release provided to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “This collaborative approach has played a decisive role in our continuous success in reducing crime.”
