Your Wi-Fi router’s secret trick: Easy file sharing between PCs

An easy way to share files between PC in your home is to configure a sharing player using the USB port of your router. You can configure a sharing reader with a few easy steps.

What to do:

Share your router IP settings

• Choose a USB flash drive or hard drive and stick it in the USB port at the back of your router. Then, on your PC, open a browser and enter the IP address of your router and enter the password to enter the screen screen.
• In the router settings, search for a menu called Drive Storage or File Sharing and click on it. You should see your reader appear on the screen. Now create a sharing folder if this is an option in your router settings.
• If not an option, you can use Windows to configure one.
• In File Explorer, select the network and enter the IP address of your router in the \\ Routerrip format. For example, “\\ 198.168.2.1”Then press Enter.
• Your reader must appear in File Explorer as a shared reader. You may want to create a shortcut on your desktop.

Card the reader on another PC

If you want to use the reader on another PC on your network, you will have to map the reader. Here’s how to do this:

• Open the file explorer by double-clicking on the File Explorer folder or press Windows + E key. Now select This PC in the navigation pane on the left.
• Click on the three points of the control bar at the top and select Drive network of cards ….
• Choose a letter from the drop -down list for your new sharing player. Now enter the network path of the Share file. It might look like this: \\ 198.168.2.1 \ Sharing.
• Click on Reconnect to connection Box so that your PC connects to the reader whenever you connect. Now click Finished To end the cartography.

Once you have mapped the reader, you can also use it on this computer. Just know that the reader is open and accessible to anyone with access to your network, so be sure not to store sensitive files.
