Tiger Woods involved in vehicle rollover in Florida

Golf superstar Tiger Woods was involved in a car crash Friday on Jupiter Island, Florida, authorities said.
The crash happened shortly after 2 p.m., the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Further details were not immediately available.
Woods, 50, played in a Tomorrow’s Golf League final match on Tuesday, where his team, Jupiter Links Golf Club, lost to Los Angeles Golf Club.
In 2021, the golfer was injured in a rollover accident in Rolling Hills Estates, Southern California. Authorities said he was driving at least twice the speed limit in a 45 mph zone when his Genesis GV80 SUV hit a tree, causing the vehicle to fly into the air and land on its side.
Woods was seriously injured in that earlier accident.
Officials said at the time that there were no signs of impairment, although the finding sparked backlash. Investigators came under scrutiny for failing to obtain a search warrant for the golfer’s blood samples, which could have detected traces of alcohol or drugs.
Woods was not charged in that 2021 crash. The athlete previously visited a clinic in 2017 to take prescription medication following an arrest that year for driving under the influence in Florida.
