Vampires, Witches, and Secret Orders—Why You Should Binge These AMC+ Shows Now

If you’re a fan of horror, fantasy, and the supernatural and haven’t subscribed to AMC+, now is a great time to rethink that decision, not just because we’re venturing deeper into the Halloween season. The streaming platform is home to some of Anne Rice’s best adaptations of witch and vampire lore, and they’re about to come face-to-face with the secret order that oversees them all.
These three spooky and stylish TV shows from Anne Rice explain why an AMC+ subscription is important right now.

Interview with the Vampire
First popularized on screen by the hit 1994 film, Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire made a big comeback with AMC’s series adaptation, which took its own liberties and saw some exciting differences, making the series worth that AMC+ subscription.
Nearly 50 years after a near-fatal encounter, cynical journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian, Billions) sits down for a new interview with vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac, played by the enigmatic Jacob Anderson (Game of Thrones). In the series, du Lac is not a Brad Pitt lookalike. He is once a gay black Creole human, but he still has a toxic relationship with the manipulative, mentally unstable, but seductive and captivating Lestat de Lioncourt (The news reader(It’s Sam Reid) – also a vampire.
At this point in the series, Louis is almost 150 years old and his life with Lestat goes back many years. He still wants to tell Daniel his life story, but while in the film it focused on his unstable relationship with his creator, here it involves his current lover, an ancient vampire named Armand (Assad Zaman, Hotel Portofino). The more Louis talks, the more Daniel realizes that he has a major book in his hands.
Although the series is expressively romantic in nature, it is extremely well balanced in its structure and tone. It takes a classic novel and builds on it by adding critique of racial and relationship dynamics, and using different time periods to explore new thematic depth, making the series much fresher than a typical vampire series. Seasons one and two are currently streaming, with season three scheduled to premiere in 2026.

Witches of Mayfair
Based on the novel trilogy by Anne Rice Witches of Mayfair follows a neurosurgeon who discovers that she is the sole heir to a dynasty of powerful witches haunted by a sinister spirit. The horror thriller series delves deep into the mythology of witchcraft, producing a sex-charged saga full of magic, twists and turns, surprises and death, spanning hundreds of years and thousands of miles.
Alexandra Daddario (The White Lotus) plays Rowan Fielding, our supernaturally talented surgeon who also has other talents. When she gets angry, she is capable of killing with her mind. Disturbed by these new powers, Rowan sets out in search of her mysterious biological family and is brought back home to New Orleans, where she ultimately discovers that the root system of the Mayfair family tree is knotted and branched beyond belief.
When she is immersed in an ancient prophecy, it leads to the resurrection of the spirit that has haunted the family for generations, Lasher (Jack Huston, from Fargo television series), with whom Rowan must now deal. However, she has a different plan and is determined to use it to achieve her goal as a healer. However, she soon discovers that her fight will forever lead to one place, and one place only: the origin of Mayfair’s legacy.
Seasons one and two are currently airing on AMC+, with season three slated for release in early 2026.
