To the Spacemobile! – NASA

In this November 1, 1964, Image, three members of the NASA Lewis Research Center (today the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland), the Educational Services Office poses with one of the demonstration units of space space sciences in the center. Once the NACA (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) has become NASA, public awareness has become one of the basic principles of the agency. Lewis, which had previously been a closed laboratory, began to host open days and space fairs developed in the early 1960s.
In addition, the center has launched educational programs that have worked with local schools and a robust speaker office that explained NASA activities to the community. One aspect of these efforts was the Spacemobile program. These vehicles included a delegated speaker, exhibitions, models and other resources. The Spacemobiles, which made incursions in the Midwest, were extremely active throughout the 1960s.
