Timothy Busfield Charged With Child Sexual Abuse Of Boys On ‘Cleaning Lady’ Set

10-year-old New Mexico boy says Timothy Busfield ‘touched his ‘poop’ and ‘pee’ area’ while filming The cleaning ladysays an arrest warrant approved by the Albuquerque County District Attorney and issued Friday.
“In my training and experience, pedophiles often infiltrate families in a trusted role, such as Timothy, who, as a producer, exploited the hectic film sets to tickle and touch SL on his penis and buttocks, masking it as a game,” states the warrant from Albuquerque Police Officer Marvin Brown. “He would invite the family to offbeat get-togethers, his wife buying Christmas presents to foster closeness, making SL feel special and dependent – classic grooming to erode boundaries, isolate the victim and silence suspicion by blending abuse into normalcy.”
Filled with tales from two brothers of their alleged repeated experiences with the Thirties alumnus, who was a director on the now-shuttered Élodie Yung-led Fox drama from Warner Bros TV, the document accuses Busfield of two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and child abuse. It is not yet known whether the Emmy winner has been arrested and imprisoned.
If convicted, Busfield faces at least three years in prison.
In fact, the 68-year-old, who was accused but never charged in two prior sexual assault allegations in 1994 and 2012, could face a much longer sentence. Under New Mexico laws, prison time for sex crimes against minors depends heavily on the context and circumstances in the degree of punishment they inflict. This time and crime category can increase significantly if the crime involves children under the age of 13 – as is the case here.
Named “SL” and “VL” in the arrest warrant, the two boys born in 2014 appeared on The cleaning lady for several seasons before being fired for aging out of the role, I hear. However, during a November 3, 2025 telephone interview with Busfield as part of the warrant, The west wing The actor told Brown, the investigating officer, that “the lead actress, Elodie Young” had informed him more than a year ago that “SL and VL’s (sic) mother wanted revenge, and I’m going to get revenge on Tim Busfield for not bringing his kids back for the final season.”

During interviews conducted with SL and VL on Halloween last year by a “child forensic investigator” and observed by Brown, the arrest warrant says SL told them that Busfield’s alleged abuse began when he was 7 years old and older. The cleaning lady.
“SL stated that Tim touched him three to four times on the ‘poop’ and ‘pee’ area over his clothes,” the 12-page arrest warrant states about what is cited as a second incident with Busfield, similar to a previous incident. “SL said he was very afraid of Tim and was relieved when he was off set. SL said he was afraid to tell anyone because Tim was the director, and he was worried that Tim would get angry with him. SL indicated that Tim touched him while he was only on set in Albuquerque.”
SL now suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety, the warrant states. SL revealed that he had nightmares in which the director touched him and woke up frightened,” the document adds.
It continues: “VL explained that Mr. Tim started touching them during the first two years and that he didn’t want to say anything, because he didn’t want to be mean to him. Therefore, VL didn’t say anything. VL said that Mr. Tim would start touching him with his hands on his body while they were filming in the ‘house.’ VL indicated that it was his body, but did not reveal that he was touched on his buttocks or on his penis. VL said he didn’t like being touched, but he didn’t say anything because he didn’t want to get in trouble.
The case first came to the attention of cops in late 2024 when a doctor at the University of New Mexico Hospital contacted the Albuquerque Police Department about a “sexual abuse investigation.”
Noting that a local law firm had advised the boys’ father to go to the hospital, today’s arrest warrant details: “Officer Osborn spoke with VL and SL, who did not disclose any sexual contact at that time. However, both boys indicated that Timothy Busfield, whom they called ‘Uncle Tim,’ would tickle them on their stomachs and legs. Neither boy minded the tickling. Officer Osborn contacted Detective Michael Brown of the Crimes Against Children Unit and determined that the case was true and did not meet their criteria for acceptance at this time.
The matter came back to police attention and became a greater priority after the boys’ mother “advised that on 02/09/2025 SL reported to his counselor that Timothy Busfield had touched his penis and buttocks.”
In that same phone conversation with Busfield in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving last year, the New York-based filmmaker also told Officer Brown that producer Warner Bros TV had conducted its own investigation into the allegations against him after SAG-AFTRA received an anonymous complaint in early 2025 regarding an incident on The cleaning lady set for December 2024. After drafting a search warrant for WB (which today’s warrant appears to incorrectly indicate occurred on “3/10/2025”) and several correspondences with WB’s attorney, Richard Wessling, of the Proskauer Law Firm, Brown, on New Year’s Eve, got his hands on the March 31, 2025 external report prepared by the Los Angeles office by Solomon Law.
Specifically, the report, which saw Busfield suspended during the investigation, examined the hotline caller’s claims that there was evidence of Busfield “tickling and fondling the heads and bodies of underage boys” while working on the film filmed in Albuquerque. Housemaid. After his own reading of the document, Brown claims in Friday’s warrant that Solomon’s investigator “Christina McGovern was unable to speak with anyone who could substantiate evidence that Timothy Busfield engaged in this behavior.”
Based on what now appear to be limited charges, WBTV’s investigation deemed Busfield “exonerated,” sources tell me.
In a statement to Deadline this evening, Channing Dungey-led WBTV said: “The health and safety of our cast and crew is always our top priority, particularly the safety of minors in our productions. We take all allegations of misconduct very seriously and have systems in place to promptly and thoroughly investigate and, if necessary, take appropriate action. We are aware of the current accusations against Mr. Busfield and have been and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement. order.”
In addition to speaking to the boys’ mother and father (who appear to have initiated and then ended a civil action over the matter), as well as a few Housemaid production assistants and staffers in the makeup and hair departments, today’s warrant also details a brief exchange between Brown and series star Yung, who was also a producer.
“On 5/11/2025, I contacted Elodie Yung to arrange an interview. Elodie agreed to meet with me at the Northwest Substation on 7/11/2025,” Brown notes in a fairly comprehensive affidavit that Albuquerque Assistant DA Savannah Brandenburg-Koch signed today. “I first informed Elodie that Tim Busfield had given me his name and said she might have information about this case. On 06/11/2025, Elodie left me a voicemail refusing to speak to me and told me she did not want to be involved in the investigation and would not have any information that could help her in this case.”
Busfield’s agents at Innovative Artists did not respond Friday evening to Deadline’s request for comment on the arrest warrant and charges against their client.
