Associated Press (AP) — Karl-Anthony Towns scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for his NBA-best 39.º double-double, and the New York Knicks held off Sunday night 105-99 before one of the Chicago Bulls to prevail and record their second straight victory.

Towns had his next points — with a triple, a blindfold and a free throw — after Chicago won 95-94 with 3:52 to play in regulation thanks to a triple by Matas Buzelis. Mikal Bridges converted another triple with 27 seconds remaining, and Jalen Brunson doomed the game with two free throws.

Brunson earned 19 points and new assists to help lead New York past the Bulls with their back-to-back novena, per Racha since a 10-week stretch in January 2019.

Landry Shamet scored 16 points for the Knicks, who had few problems scoring and shooting 44.7 percent from the field, after rallying from an 18-point deficit in the quarter to defeat Houston 108-106 in New York on Saturday.

It ended with 15 points for Chicago. Jalen Smith was rated 12 before going out in the third quarter for being stiff in the right pantorrilla, and Isaac Okoro was rated 12. Guerschon Yabusele recorded 11 points and 13 rebounds.
