Train plan derailed by messy humans | Rail transport

How disappointing that the rail regulator has given in to the whining minnies and reinstated the 7am passenger service between Manchester and London (“People had forgotten about it”: on board the 7am Manchester-London train service saved from the axe, December 4). It was a brilliant idea being tested before it was adopted across the entire rail network. Gone is the dream of an efficient rail service, free from the demands of so-called “humans” and their disorderly habits.

It is reassuring that the protesters chose a patriotic apple crumble and custard to attack the Crown Jewels of the Tower of London (the Tower of London reopens after an apple crumble thrown at the Crown Jewels exhibition on December 6). If they had chosen a foreign tiramisu, strudel or baklava, it would have been serious business indeed.
