Transcript: Mike Johnson Unnerved as ACA Revolt Worsens: “Bullshit!”

Sergeant: Well, I want to go back to what you just said, which is that Mike Johnson is ideologically opposed to extending the subsidies. Obviously he calculated that if it got a vote it would pass, right?
I mean, that’s the problem. What has been revealed here is that the Republican position is very unpopular – so unpopular that, ultimately, a bloc of moderates had to break with Mike Johnson and the Republican conference to join the Democrats, right?
Segers: I think Republicans realize what a critical issue this is. We’ve seen Trump pollsters – like Tony Fabrizio, I think, but we’ve seen Trump pollsters look at this and say, “This is going to be a big problem for the Republicans,” because it’s not just, like with Medicaid, very low-income Americans who are going to be affected. It’s everyone who participates in the ACA market.
