‘Tron: Ares’ Gets Disney Plus Streaming Release Date

Tron: Aresthe third live-action installment in the film franchise, takes audiences back to the grid that Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) first discovered more than four decades ago. The film benefits from a mostly new cast (Bridges returns, albeit briefly) and adds a new AI threat to the mix, leading to a global race for survival. Tron: Ares was not very successful at the box office; will it do better in streaming? We’re about to find out.
Jared Leto plays the titular program, Ares, who is brought into the analog world by Julian Dillinger (Evan Peters), the CEO of ENCOM, for nefarious reasons. Greta Lee is Eve Kim, a rival tech mogul who becomes Ares’ target.
Jodie Turner-Smith, Gillian Anderson, Arturo Castro and Hasan Minhaj also star. Joachim Rønning (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) directed Tron: Ares, which you can watch on Disney Plus next week.
