Trump made no effort to hide his disdain for wind energy and other renewable energies, and his administration has actively sought to thwart industry growth while providing what criticisms have described as “gifts” to fossil fuels.

In a social article of truth on Wednesday, Trump described the wind and solar energy of “the scam of the century”, criticizing the states that have built and counted on them for power.

“We will not give the wind or farmers destroy solar energy,” wrote Trump. “The days of stupidity are ended in the United States !!!”

On the first day of Trump’s power, the president published a memorandum interrupting approvals, permits, leases and loans for offshore and onshore wind projects.

The GOP has also targeted wind energy in the law on one Big Beautiful Bill, accelerating the elimination of tax credits for wind and solar projects while obliging rental sales for fossil fuels and putting millions of acres of federal land available for mining.

The subsequent consideration of the administration of the rules to further restrict access to tax credits for wind and solar projects even alarmed certain Republicans, which prompted the senator of Iowa, Chuck Grassley, and the senator of UTAH, John Curtis.

These movements have shaken the wind industry and created uncertainty about the viability of current and future projects.

“The unfortunate message to investors is clear: the United States is no longer a reliable place for long-term energy investments,” said American Clean Power Association, a professional association, in a press release.

In Kathleen Meil, local director of the deployment of energy specific to the voters of the conservation league, which represents a loss not only for the environment but also for the American economy.

“It is really easy to think of the visible – the 4,200 jobs in all the development phases you see … They have reached more than 2 million hours of union work on Revolution Wind,” said Meil.

“But what is also really transformational is that it has already sparked $ 1.3 billion in the supply chain. It is therefore not only the coastal communities that benefit from these jobs,” she said.

“It hurts so many people. And why? There is simply no justification. ”
