Trump Appoints New Federal Fraud Czar – RedState
If you’ve been following along, you’ve seen numerous reports of widespread fraud in our country, ranging from welfare fraud to Medicare fraud to…well, you name it. We’ve seen some shocking numbers, and we’ve seen some pretty unrepentant Democrats willing to give it all up. Minnesota appears to be the starting point for possible billions in fraud, and much of that money has gone overseas to Somalia and elsewhere.
We’ve also seen some really big names involved, as my colleague Bonchie reported a few days ago:

President Trump decided to do something. On Wednesday, he took advantage of his Truth Social platform to announce a new appointment and a new division at the Department of Justice.

The president writes:
I am pleased to appoint Colin McDonald as the first-ever Assistant Attorney General for Domestic Fraud Enforcement, a new division of the Department of Justice I created to catch and arrest FRAUDERS who have STEALED from the American people. My administration uncovered fraudulent schemes in states like Minnesota and California, where these thieves stole hundreds of billions of dollars from taxpayers. Colin McDonald is a very smart, tough, and highly respected America’s premier federal prosecutor who has successfully delivered justice in some of the most difficult, high-stakes cases our country has ever seen. Together, we will END THE FRAUD and RESTORE THE INTEGRITY of our federal programs. Congratulations Colin — STOP THE SCAMS!
This seems like a logical response to the fraud that has already been uncovered, the widespread fraud of our taxpayers’ money that has been going on for years. And it’s not just in Minnesota. It’s California, it’s Illinois, it’s over.

These kinds of projects don’t happen overnight. Not on this scale. Not with that many people involved. Not in as many places. Furthermore, it is almost certain that we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg in this fraud scandal, which could result in scams worth billions. And, as happened in Minnesota, much of that money most likely went overseas, to Somalia, to Venezuela, to Russia, who knows?
Solving this problem requires going way beyond just catching the people who are doing this now, trying them and putting them in jail. This goes beyond the fight against ongoing fraud. This new division will have to work with the defrauded agencies and close the doors left open that allowed this type of thing to happen.
Colin McDonald has a big job ahead of him. He will need good people to work with him, and we wish him all the best, because the full force of the left, which does not want this money spigot to close, will oppose him.
And since I’ve already been there, remember this: If the Republicans lose elections in 2026 and 2028, Colin McDonald and his new division will be shut down, no matter what they accomplished.
