Time is almost up in the way we track every second of the day, with optical atomic clocks set to redefine how the world measures a second in the near future. Researchers from the University of Adelaide have worked with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the US and the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in the UK to examine the future of the next generation of timekeeping.
