Trump Demands Games Off Air During Army-Navy Game

Each year, the U.S. Army and the Naval Academy compete in a nationally televised football game.
Recently, Trump took to Truth Social to complain that last year’s 126th annual Army-Navy game was, in his words, “pushed out” by the college playoff games that were being broadcast at the same time.
“The Army-Navy game is one of our greatest American traditions: unparalleled patriotism, courage and honor! This incredible tradition is now in danger of being sidelined by more college playoff games and big TV money. MORE! ” Trump wrote.
“Under my administration, the second Saturday in December belongs to the Army-Navy, and ONLY the Army-Navy! I will soon sign a historic executive order guaranteeing an EXCLUSIVE 4-hour broadcast window, so that this national event sits above commercial post-season games. No other game or team can violate this time slot!!!”
“On the field they are rivals, but on the battlefield they are America’s unstoppable patriots, defending our country with immense strength and heart. We must protect tradition and the players who protect us. Please let this serve as a notice to ALL networks, stations and television media outlets. God bless America and God bless our great Army-Navy game!!! President Donald J. Trump”
Evidently, news of Trump’s plan to use his presidential power to control television networks prompted responses such as:
“Let that sink in for a moment. The president orders television stations to reserve a time slot for programming of his choosing, and he denies media outlets the right to broadcast other content at that time? Is the right still trying to say this man is not a dictator?” » said another person.
Another person called it “state television.”
“The sooner everyone realizes and accepts that we are in a dictatorship, the better. Admitting the problem is the first step to recovery,” one person commented.
