Northwestern loses opener to Tulane 23-3

New Orleans-Jake Retzlaff passed for a touchdown and added a 69 yards race during its beginnings in Tulane, and Green Wave won a 23-3 victory against Northwestern on Saturday.

RETZLAFF – which won 11 games in Byu last season but was transferred after learning that he was facing a suspension for raped the code of honor of his former school – represented 265 infringements. He passed for 152 yards and rushed to 113.

Northwest: The large offensive line of the Wildcats – its five starters on average by almost 6 feet 5 inches and 311 pounds – fought against the defensive front of Tulane. Northwestern abandoned three bags and the Wildcats finished with 76 yards on the ground.

Tulane: Retzlaff had 216 yards in total at halftime – 212 assists and 104 rush. That – and a strong defensive performance throughout – walked the wave to their first victory over a Big Ten team since 1970 in Illinois.
