Multiple people injured in stabbing at Michigan Walmart, suspect in custody, officials say


At least 11 people were injured in a “multiple stab incident” in a Walmart to City Traverse in Michigan, officials said.
A suspect is in detention, said Michigan State police on X.
Additional details on the incident were not immediately available.
Eleven people receive care at the Menson Medical Center, said Catherine Dewey with the medical center. She said the staff are still assessed the conditions of the victims and the nature of their injuries.
It was not immediately clear if there were more victims.
A state police spokesman could not clarify if the incident was just a stab or if there was also a shooting and was not sure if there were several suspects.
The Sheriff’s Bureau of the County Grand Traverse Investigation into the incident, the State police announced.
Crossing City is around 255 miles northwest of Detroit.
