Sure, you can build a box fort on your kitchen table, but a standing desk and comfortable office chair don’t have to be excessive splurges. Investing in good ergonomic equipment can be affordable, at least during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. November’s offerings in these categories aren’t as fast and furious, but a good handful are worth looking at.
How we select offers: We compiled our list based on user reviews, technical specifications, pricing trends over the year, and feedback from PCWorld staff. These are products that we ourselves would buy for our home. (Or already!)

Black Friday 2025 deals on office chairs
- Amazon Basics Swivel Mesh Office Chair, Black – $66 (23% off at Amazon)
- Hon Ignition 2.0 Mid Back Task Chair, Black – $320.48 (29% off at Amazon)
- Steelcase Amia – $749 (25% off at Steelcase)

- Herman Miller Mirra 2 Chair – $1,159 (25% off at Herman Miller)
- Herman Miller Aeron Chair – $1,448 (25% off at Herman Miller)
If you need more comfort and want a “buy it for life” chair, Herman Miller and Steelcase have already reduced their chair prices by 25% for Black Friday. They are expensive, but I can personally vouch for the Herman Miller Aeron and the Steelcase Amia. They feel really good about sitting for full work days. I would name the Steelcase Amia as my upgrade choice if you want something sturdier than the basic mesh swivel office chairs you get cheap on Amazon.

Flexispot is a popular brand on Amazon, and for good reason: Their standing desks start at prices much lower than their competitors. I would recommend the E6 model deal, which at under $250 would be my pick for the best standing desk deal. As a dual-motor model, you’ll get a better quality of experience (stability, smoothness) and it’s priced similar to single-motor models from more expensive competitors. And if you need the desk to support a ton of weight, you can upgrade to the $299 E6 MAX standing desk deal, which supports up to 330 pounds and is even on wheels for easier mobility.
Note: Amazon offers many of its Black Friday deals only for Amazon Prime members. But don’t worry if you’re not currently one of them! You can sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime to shop, then cancel before you’re charged for the subscription.

Standing Desks and Office Chairs FAQs
What features should I look for in a standing desk?
A dual motor and programmable controls make for a smoother overall experience. With this type of motor, the table will wobble less when going up and down. The frames used for dual motor desks are also generally sturdier.
Meanwhile, programmable controls allow you to easily switch between different specific height positions. It’s a quality of life improvement that influences how much you enjoy having a standing desk: manually supervising height adjustments can become tedious and even a little boring in the long run.
What makes a good office chair?
This question is a bit difficult to answer, but there are two main things to consider. First, you want enough back support to avoid hunching over, while still feeling relaxed while seated. You also want to avoid pressure on your lower back when sitting in a chair. Office chairs designed for prolonged sitting will have backs and seats designed to address these issues, unlike the flatter surfaces of casual kitchen and office chairs.
Armrests, headrests, and mesh fabric can also contribute to comfort, depending on your height and how hot you run. When possible, try these features first on a chair a friend owns or on display in a store, to see if you need them. The mesh is particularly suitable for those who sweat easily.
The caster legs are also useful for getting in and out of the chair easily. You can often upgrade the casters, as Reddit recommends, for an even smoother experience. Be aware that for hard floors you may need a rug to protect against scratches, and for deep carpeted floors you may need a rug to roll unhindered.
How do I know if I’m getting a good deal on standing desks or office chairs during Black Friday/Cyber Monday?
For the offers chosen by PCWorld, the quality of the product and the offer are taken into account. Above all, the desk or chair must be well considered. Prices are also expected to be among the lowest we’ve seen, especially in the context of a product’s historical cost.
If you’re thinking about a good deal yourself, know that many standing desks are name-brand models with slight variations, just like less expensive office chairs. Read product reviews and, where available, also look at AI summaries of user reviews: ignore anything with a known defect or high return rates. Ideally, a desk or chair should receive both independent reviews and high ratings from users.
