Trump Lays Out Terms For End To Iran War

President Donald Trump on Monday outlined the conditions Iran would have to meet to end Operation Epic Fury.
Trump announced Monday morning that talks had begun between the United States and Iran, suspending for five days a planned strike against Iranian power plants. Trump spoke to reporters before boarding Air Force One en route to an event in Memphis. (RELATED: Trump halts all strikes on Iranian power plants amid negotiations)
“We’re looking for all the things we talked about,” Trump told reporters. “We don’t want a nuclear bomb, no nuclear weapon, not even close to it, and discrete missiles. We want to see peace in the Middle East. We want nuclear dust, we’re going to want it, and I think we’re going to get it.”

“We accepted that, yes, we accepted that uranium…we don’t want enrichment, but we also want enriched uranium,” Trump continued. “If this happens, it’s a good start for Iran to rebuild, and that’s all we want, and it’s also great for Israel and it’s great for the other countries in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, all of them, Kuwait and Bahrain in particular, so it’s great for all of them.”
Trump announced the start of Operation Epic Fury in a February 28 article on Truth Social after negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program failed. Steve Witkoff, President Trump’s Middle East envoy, said in a March 2 interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity that Iranian diplomats have said the regime will continue to enrich uranium and say they already have enough material for nearly a dozen “dirty” weapons.
Trump later told reporters at the meeting that the United States would take possession of the documents in question.
“It’s very simple,” he told reporters. “If we reach an agreement with them, we will fall and accept it ourselves.”
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth refused to rule out the use of ground troops to seize Iranian nuclear materials during a March 13 press briefing.
“We have said from the beginning that denying Iran’s nuclear weapon is an essential mission. We have, we maintain options across the spectrum to ensure that they never do, and President Trump has said that,” Hegseth told reporters.
“I will never tell this group or the world what we are willing to do or how far we are willing to go, but we certainly have options,” Hegseth said later during the briefing.
