NYC Mayor Eric Adams Ends Reelection Campaign: ‘Cannot Continue’

New York mayor Eric Adams (D) announced on Sunday that he ended his quest for re -election, citing “constant media speculation” and the “decision of the campaign’s finance council to hold millions of dollars” having embarrassed his ability to collect enough money.
In a video Published on X, Adams underlined how, under his direction, his administration had “built more housing in a term than any administration” before and had reduced “the crime so far” that the city was “on the right track to have fewer shooting and murders”. Adams also pointed out how his administration had “increased test results and attendance”.
“Despite everything we have accomplished, I cannot continue my re -election campaign,” said Adams. “Constant media speculations on my future and the decision of the campaign of the campaign to retain millions of dollars have undermined my ability to collect the funds necessary for a serious campaign.”
“I hope that over time, New Yorkers will see the city prosper under our direction, the policies that we put in place should be continued and enlarged,” added Adams. “I hope you will see that despite the big titles and innuendos, I have always put you in front of me, always.”
Adams’ announcement occurs as a recent survey of the city of the University of Suffolk noted that the Democratic Socialist and candidate for the town hall of New York, Zohran Mamdani, had held a 20 -point lead on his other opponent, former governor of New York and independent candidate for the town hall of NYC, Andrew Cuom0.
