Trump Meets With Zelensky to End War, Spars With the Media – RedState
President Donald Trump met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at Mar-a-Lago on Sunday in an effort to end the war between Ukraine and Russia.
Trump earlier posted about a conversation he had with Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling it a “good and productive” call.

Trump had positive comments about the progress being made while answering a few questions from reporters.

“I believe we have the basis for a deal,” Trump told reporters as he stood alongside Zelensky, adding that he believed the process could “move very quickly.”
Trump said he did not have a “deadline” – that his deadline was to end the war.

Trump was in vintage form and he wasn’t engaging in any media nonsense. He attacked one of the journalists who asked him what the security agreement would contain. “What a stupid question!” he said. “No one knows what the security agreement contains.” But he said the final deal would provide a good security guarantee.
He described the talks as being in their “final phase”. It seemed like he was giving them a warning: do it, or if you don’t, the option is not good.
“I think we’re in the final stages of discussions and we’ll see,” Trump said. “Otherwise it’s going to last a long time. Either it’s going to end or it’s going to last a long time and millions more people are going to be killed.”
Then they sat inside with other negotiators, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and special envoy Steve Witkoff.
But before throwing the press out, Trump graciously treated them to lunch and joked: “Would you like some food? Or do you consider this a bribe? And therefore you can’t write honestly? Or write a bad story? You can speak.”

But he wasn’t joking. When they said yes, he asked his staff to prepare lunch for them.
They had sliced steak, pigs in a blanket, coconut shrimp, fries and chocolate chip cookies.

Oh, and water with Trump label on it. He likes to troll the media.

We will now have to see what comes out of the meeting. Trump is certainly going all out, even meeting over the Christmas holidays. They will also speak to the press after the meeting, so we will keep you informed.
