Former FBI director James Comey said he knew that there would be “costs to resist Donald Trump,” after being charged on a fake declaration on the Congress and a chief of accusation of justice on Thursday in the president’s last decision of the president’s vast decision against his political opponents.
In a video published online, Comey said he was innocent, adding “let’s take a trial and keep the faith”.
“My heart is broken for the Ministry of Justice, but I have great confidence in the federal judicial system, and I am innocent,” said Comey.
Trump celebrated the charges in an article on Truth Social.
“Justice in America! One of the worst human beings to which this country has ever been exposed is James Comey, the former corrupt FBI chief,” he wrote in a post.
